Museums (What museums are to be found?)
Minimize
Centuries old heritage and craftsmanship: Champagne-Ardenne cherishes its treasures from the past. Visitors can admire them in a number of museums such as:
  • The wine centre in Essoyes and the Wine and vineyard museum, which is situated in an ancient lighthouse in Verzenay. Both of them will give you an insight in the history of Champagne.
  • Museums on the history of art introduces you are to be found in every big city. Of a total different order, but surely interesting are the theme museums.
  • The forest museum for instance gives you an insight of how our ancestors coped with life in the forest.
  • In the Centre of tools and labourers philosophy you will find an impressive collection of tools (more than 10.000) used by craftsmen in the years gone by.
  • The Museum of wedding traditions harbours a surprisingly well kept collection of wedding wreaths.
  • The Pelletier Centre offers an interesting image of the history of   cutting instruments manufacturing from the smallest knife to the most advanced surgical instruments.
  • And why shouldn’t you go back in time during your holidays and sit yourself in a bench of a little school from the 19th century?
  • As for museums you will find yourselves spoilt for choice, each one sheds its light on yet another aspect of the region. Make your own choice.
